Music with Mari
Young children are drawn to music from the moment they’re born but studies have shown that an early introduction to musical experiences accelerates brain development, especially in the areas of language acquisition and reading skills. In addition to being a lot of fun, musical experiences support the development of the whole child (emotional regulation, patience, self-expression, memory, coordination) while creating lasting memories with friends.
Ms. Mari visits our classrooms every other Friday and offers an enriching musical experience for all. Each child has an opportunity to experiment with musical instruments and learn new songs during her engaging music and movement circle time that our children look forward to each week. Music enrichment is free of charge to all families.
Dance with Ms. Erika
Dance class is a wonderful way to promote healthy physical development while providing an additional opportunity for enrichment. Other benefits of dancing include coordination, socialization, confidence, and spatial awareness. Many of the skills acquired through dance class are beneficial to the development of the whole child.
Ms. Erika (Director of Creative Dance Theatre) is on site every Wednesday & Thursday to offer dance enrichment (tap and ballet) to our preschool-age children. Ms. Erika works with two groups each day (younger and older), giving all nursery school children an opportunity to participate. Dance class is $10.50 per class and bills out automatically with tuition.
Spanish with Ms. Irma
Learning a second language has been shown to enhance academic learning like reading comprehension, writing, and analytical thinking. Additionally, research has shown that children who learn a second language demonstrate cognitive advantages, like increased problem-solving skills and creativity.
Ms. Irma collects small groups of children (preschool-age students only) from their assigned classrooms every Monday and Tuesday to partake in Spanish enrichment. Ms. Irma’s specialized curriculum introduces children to the Spanish language through an engaging circle time, art project, and Spanish songs. Spanish class is $10.50 per class and bills out automatically with tuition.
